Victor was a man who needed some good luck to go his way. It was around 1928, and he couldn’t get enough rights to water on his ranch in Pahsimeroi, Idaho to even grow a garden. His logging enterprise in Patterson petered out. Now he needed some luck.
He and his family loaded on their wagon and with his giant team of horses pulling them and all their possessions, they lit out for Yellow Jacket. The mining operations in that area were ramping back up. He figured with his big team of blacks, Dot and Gyp, he could make a better living.
